Lotte Mart announced on Tuesday that it is offering customers a new experience by using AI-generated music and images in its stores, which has significantly reduced costs compared to traditional music production.

The company has been broadcasting background music (BGM) in stores created using a generative AI music production platform as of August 8th, 2024. The three AI-produced tracks currently being played are: “A fun time at Lotte Mart,” “For those who are tired after cooking,” and “Marble 9, Party Tonight.” All the song’s aspects, including composition, lyrics, and vocals, were created using generative AI.

AI music production has proven to be highly efficient. The entire process, from planning to production, took only two days, reducing costs and time by 90 percent compared to traditional methods that involve hiring composers and vocalists, the company said.
