LG Electronics Inc. is introducing new delivery solutions for customers purchasing TVs with ultra-large screens.

According to market tracker Omdia, global shipments of 90-inch and larger TVs have surged from about 25,000 units in 2020 to about 432,000 units in 2023, with an average annual growth rate of 158 percent.

This trend is expected to continue, with around 658,000 units projected for shipment this year, it said.

As part of efforts to meet the demand growth, LG Electronics is enhancing its delivery service for ultra-large TVs.

The company has developed a custom cart designed to transport 90-inch and larger TVs via apartment elevators.

LG Electronics is also utilizing nationwide apartment elevator data, secured through its collaboration with the Korea Elevator Safety Agency, to improve product delivery.

Previously, delivering 90-inch TVs posed significant challenges as they could not fit into apartment elevators, requiring 4-8 installers to carry the products up the stairs or use additional ladder trucks.

LG Electronics plans to expand its customized delivery solution for ultra-large TVs nationwide by August in collaboration with LX Pantos Co.
