DAY6 announced a busy rest of the year with a new album and a world tour.
K-pop rock band DAY6 will kick off its third world tour “Forever Young” with three performances at Incheon Inspire Arena on Sept. 20 to 22, its agency JYP Entertainment said Monday.
“Forever Young” comes four years and eight months after its second world tour “Gravity,” held from August 2019 to January 2020.
DAY6 will go on to perform in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Oct. 5; Bali, Indonesia on Oct. 12; Surabaya, Indonesia on Oct. 16; Jakarta, Indonesia on Oct. 19; Singapore on Nov. 22; and Bangkok on Nov. 30.
The band will continue the tour into next year, performing in Hong Kong on Jan. 26; Osaka, Japan on Feb. 12 and 13; Tokyo on March 15 and 16; and Manila on March 22.
Additional dates will be added on to the tour in the future, according to JYP Entertainment.
The world tour will come after the release of the band's upcoming ninth EP "Band Aid" on Sept. 2.
"Band Aid" comes six months after its previous EP, "Fourever," which signaled the new beginning of the band after all four members finished their military duties late last year.
Lead track "Welcome to the Show" of "Fourever" stormed domestic music charts upon its release with the band's iconic ode-to-the-youth vibe loved not only by fans but the general public.
DAY6 held three "Welcome to the Show" concerts in Seoul in April, drawing in some 34,000 audiences in total. The band utilized a round-shaped stage placed in the middle of the venue for a 360-degree view of the performance, as opposed to typical concerts where the stage is placed at one end of the venue.
DAY6 debuted under JYP Entertainment in 2015 as the agency’s first rock band. The band currently consists of four members who are all vocalists as well as instrumentalists — guitarist Sungjin; bassist and guitarist Young K; keyboardist Wonpil; and drummer Dowoon. It is known for hit songs including “Congratulations” (2015), “You Were Beautiful” (2017), “Time of Our Life” (2019) and “Zombie” (2020).
