South Korea’s leading automaker Hyundai Motor Co. disclosed the brand of batteries in its electric vehicle (EV) cars on its website as customers’ concerns over battery safety continue to grow following a recent blaze involving a Mercedes-Benz electric sedan at an Incheon apartment complex.

Kia Corp. is expected to follow suit, with plans to release similar information on its website between Monday and Tuesday.

According to multiple sources familiar with the matter, Hyundai Motor revealed details on the brand of batteries in its 13 EV vehicles, including three Genesis models. The information also includes battery specifics for the Ioniq 5 and 6, KONA Electric, ST1, and Casper Electric. The automaker noted that apart from the KONA Electric, which uses batteries from China‘s CATL, all other EVs have batteries from Korean manufacturers LG Energy Solution, Ltd. and SK on Co.

The Korean government plans to hold an emergency meeting on Monday to discuss fires involving electric vehicles (EVs) and come up with measures to prevent future incidents.
