Korean taekwondo practitioner Lee Da-bin beat Lorena Brandl of Germany 2-1 in the women’s +67-kilogram bronze medal match at the Paris Olympics Saturday, winning her second Olympic medal and earning Korea’s third medal in the sport at this year’s Games.

Lee won the first round 4-2 and lost the second round 9-5 at the Grand Palais in Paris but came back in the third round to claim a decisive 13-2 victory and a bronze medal.

The bronze is her second medal at the Olympics after her silver from the Tokyo Olympics in 2021.

Her bronze brings Korea’s medal count at this year’s Olympics to three, with Park Tae-joon and Kim Yu-jin having won a gold apiece.

Saturday’s bronze marks another success in Lee’s medal-rich career during which she has won a medal at every major tournament, including the Asian Games and World Championships.

Lee’s bronze also wraps up Korea’s run in the sport at the Games, as she was the last Korean taekwondo practitioner to compete in the tournament. The Olympics end on Sunday.
