BTS's Jungkook Nominated for Best Collaboration and Best K-Pop at 2024 MTV VMAs

(MHNSports Reporter Sun Shin) Jungkook of BTS has solidified his status as a 'global pop star' by being nominated for the 'MTV Video Music Awards' for the third consecutive year.

According to the list of nominees announced on the 6th (local time) for the '2024 MTV Video Music Awards' (2024 MTV VMA), Jungkook has been nominated in two categories: 'Best Collaboration' and 'Best K-Pop' with his song 'Seven (feat. Latto)'.

Notably, Jungkook's nomination for 'Best Collaboration' alongside Taylor Swift, Post Malone, and Drake highlights his prominence as a global pop star.

In 2022, Jungkook became the first Korean solo artist to be nominated for 'Song of Summer' with his collaboration 'Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS)' with Charlie Puth. This marks his third consecutive nomination for the 'MTV VMA'. Last year, 'Seven (feat. Latto)' won 'Song of Summer,' making Jungkook the first Korean solo artist to win in that category.

The '2024 MTV VMA' will be held on September 10 at the UBS Arena in New York.

Jungkook's first solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)', released in July last year, quickly became a 'mega hit song' globally. It reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 3 on the UK Official Singles Chart, achieving remarkable success on major global music charts. Additionally, it became the fastest song to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform.
