(MHNSports Reporter Sun Shin) Taylor Swift's concert in Austria has been canceled after a terror attack plot was uncovered.

More than 170,000 fans had already purchased tickets for three scheduled concerts in Vienna. However, the event was called off after Austrian police apprehended suspects involved in planning the attack.

On the 7th of the month, local time, Austrian police announced that two suspects planning to attack the Ernst Happel Stadium, where Swift's concert was set to take place, had been arrested. Franz Ruf, Director of Public Safety in Austria, revealed in a press conference that one of the suspects is a 19-year-old Austrian national who had pledged allegiance to the extremist group Islamic State (IS). He was apprehended in Ternitz, south of Vienna, while the other suspect was arrested within the city. Authorities are currently analyzing confiscated items from their homes.

Barracuda Music, the event organizer, announced on Instagram that all three concerts scheduled from the 8th to the 10th have been canceled in consultation with government agencies, citing safety concerns. Ticket holders will receive automatic refunds.

Taylor Swift's concert was part of her 'Eras Tour,' which began in the U.S. last March and is set to conclude in Canada this December. Over 65,000 fans were expected to attend each of the three Vienna shows. While the cancellation has disappointed many fans, authorities and the event organizers emphasized that safety was their top priority.

Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer expressed his gratitude to the police on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating that early detection of the threat had prevented a tragedy.

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift's 'Eras Tour' is on track to become the highest-grossing concert tour in history, attracting fans from all over the world.
