CJ Olive Young opens new logistics center to support beauty exports

CJ Olive Young Corp. announced on Thursday that it has established a new logistics center in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province, and will begin trial operations later this month.

The Olive Young Anseong Logistics Center, located in Daedeok-myeon, spans an area of about 33,000 square meters. It will primarily handle international logistics operations, serving as a strategic hub for CJ Olive Young’s global ambitions.

The new center, comparable in size to five soccer fields, is the second-largest facility in Olive Young’s network, following the Integrated Logistics Center built in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, in 2019.

The Anseong center boasts a single-floor design, enabling efficient inventory management and operations. Its proximity to the integrated logistics center, which manages logistics for both metropolitan area stores and the online mall, adds to its strategic advantages.

The Anseong facility will manage logistics for Olive Young’s Global Mall and its private brands such as BIOHEAL BOH, and Wakemake.

By consolidating functions previously dispersed across three locations in the metropolitan area, CJ Olive Young aims to create a hub logistics base that maximizes business synergies and operational efficiency.

To optimize shipping services for different countries, the Global Mall section of the center will be equipped with customized shipping facilities from carriers like DHL and EMS.

This setup is designed to handle the surge in overseas orders during major sales events like Black Friday and Cyber Monday, where demand can spike to more than five times the usual volume.

The company also plans to automate processes from product sorting to packaging, improving worker productivity.

The private brand section of the center focuses on integrating inventory previously managed at two logistics facilities in the Yongin area into a single workspace.

This consolidation is aimed at reducing the time required to ship products to external sales channels, including exports and duty-free outlets. In the long term, CJ Olive Young aims to offer delivery services on par with those provided by local manufacturing and distribution companies in international markets.

Unlike the Global Mall logistics, which handles a wide variety of small orders in multiple batches, the center features a dedicated 1,300-sqaure meter area for seamless bulk shipments.
