The U.K. government's Chevening Scholarship has opened applications for students worldwide, announced the British Embassy in Seoul.
Applications for the Chevening Scholarship — available to students from 165 countries, including Korea — are open from Tuesday until Nov. 5.
The scholarship is offered to students who wish to pursue a one-year master's degree program at U.K. universities, providing full tuition, a monthly stipend, round-trip airfare and an arrival allowance.
Eligible applicants must be from one of the 165 Chevening-eligible countries, have at least two years of work experience and hold an undergraduate degree.
Introduced in 1983, the scholarship has selected more than 57,000 students as scholars.
"Chevening scholars, fellows and alumni use the skills and knowledge they gain while studying in the U.K. to drive change when they return home, becoming leaders and change-makers, helping to ensure the world is a better place in which to live, work and thrive," said Emma Hennessey, Head of The Scholarships Unit at the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.
"Chevening represents the very best of the U.K. and the world, and our scholars become part of the global Chevening network of more than 57,000 alumni. I am continually inspired by the passion and commitment of those in the Chevening community, and I look forward to receiving applications from the next generation of leaders."
