A notice stuck on a parking tower surface in Mapo District, southern Seoul, on Wednesday reads "Electric vehicles are not allowed to enter the parking tower. Electric vehicles should use the outdoor parking lot behind."
The notice comes in the wake of growing public fear after a Mercedes electric vehicle exploded in an underground parking lot in Incheon on Aug. 1, causing damage to a total of 140 cars in the lot and hospitalizing 23 people. Nearly 500 households were displaced following electricity and water outages.
