Blackpink's Lisa is slated to release her single "New Woman" featuring Rosalía, on Aug. 16, her agency Sony Music Entertainment announced in a press release Wednesday.
Lisa and Grammy-winning Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía were reportedly close acquaintances prior to working on "New Woman." Both have strong musical identities and their collaboration is much anticipated by fans around the world, said Sony Music Entertainment.
"New Woman" comes just two months after Lisa released her last solo track, "Rockstar." It debuted at No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the Billboard Global 200.
The upcoming song marks her second solo release since founding her own music label, Lloud, last February, in pursuit of a full-fledged solo career. Her first-ever solo single, "Lalisa," was released in 2021, under her original K-pop agency YG Entertainment. She is still signed with YG for her group activities as part of Blackpink.
Lisa was the third Blackpink member to announce having her own label, following bandmates Jennie and Jisoo — who both founded individual management labels with members of their families.
The remaining member, Rosé, signed a management contract with The Black Label earlier this year, joining fellow artists Jeon Somi, Taeyang of Big Bang and Zion.T.
