Korean wrestler Lee Seung-chan ended his first Olympic run after a 9-0 loss to Amin Mirzazadeh of Iran in the men’s Greco-Roman 130-kilogram repechage match at the Paris Olympics on Tuesday.

Lee went into action at Champ-de-Mars Arena in Paris after losing the round of 16 on Monday, but he failed to bounce back. The match was one-sided, with Lee failing to earn a single point and losing 9-0.

In wrestling, wrestlers try to pin both of their opponent’s shoulders to the mat during two three-minute periods. They earn points throughout the match for takedowns, holds, throws and other moves. If neither wrestler is pinned, the one who scores the most points wins.

The loss ends Lee’s run at this year’s Olympics. Lee is one of the three Korean wrestlers at this year’s Olympics alongside Kim Seung-jun and Lee Han-bit.

Kim lost 9-0 to Artur Aleksanyan of Armenia in the men’s Greco-Roman 97-kilogram round of 16 on Tuesday.

Wrestling has appeared at every Olympics since 1896 except the 1900 Games. Korea has won 36 medals in the sport — 11 gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze.
