Department stores to receive Chuseok gift reservations from Aug. 9

South Korea’s three major department stores will begin accepting reservations for Chuseok gift sets from August 9.

According to industry sources on Sunday, Shinsegae Department Store will receive reservations from August 9 to 29, Lotte Department Store from August 9 to 25, and Hyundai Department Store from August 9 to 29.

Shinsegae Department Store has prepared about 50,000 sets for reservation sales, offering over 250 items including agricultural, livestock, and marine products, as well as wine.

Discounts include 5-10 percent on Korean beef, 20 percent on dried yellow corvina, 10 percent on fresh fruit, 60 percent on wine, and 50 percent on health foods.

The prices for fruit gift sets have been set at a similar level to last year by expanding select farms designated by Shinsegae Department Store.

Lotte Department Store will offer more than 220 items at up to 50 percent off their regular prices. They have increased the supply of high-demand livestock and marine gift sets by 20 percent and fresh fruit and traditional liquor by over 15 percent compared to last year.
