Thousands arrive early for Spurs match in Seoul — in pictures

An enormous crowd of football fans gathered around the stadium in the sweltering heat Wednesday to show their support for Spurs and captain Son Heung-min hours before kickoff.

Two hours before a Coupang Play Series match between Tottenham Hotspur and Team K League at Seoul World Cup Stadium in western Seoul, an enormous crowd of football fans had already gathered around the stadium on a sweltering Wednesday to show their support for Spurs and captain Son Heung-min.

Wednesday's fixture is a preseason match organized by Korean e-commerce company Coupang that features European teams and Team K League — consisting of 22 players from the K League picked by K League fans and coaches for Wednesday’s match against Spurs.

On this reporter's walk to the stadium, a large group of fans wearing white Tottenham jerseys were visible from a distance. Many of them were wearing No. 7 Son jerseys.

Groups of families and couples were also taking pictures around the stadium and in front of photo zones designed for the Coupang Play Series.

After Wednesday's fixture, Tottenham will play Bayern Munich on Saturday as part of the series.
