Korea University announced a tentative curriculum for its new international student-only Division of Global Entertainment, with applications for the inaugural class opening soon.
The Division of Global Entertainment is an undergraduate program that plans to offer three core courses and 24 additional courses, according to the university on Wednesday.
The curriculum is currently only a draft with the finalized version to be announced in November.
Of the three core courses, two are core courses for the university's existing media and communication program: Introduction to Media and Creative Media Design & Expression.
Another course, tentatively named Entertainment Korean, will be created to teach students basic knowledge about Korea's entertainment industry.
The other 24 courses will focus on areas such as producing entertainment content, with courses such as AI content production and K-content production offered. There will also be courses that teach students about Hallyu (Korean Wave), the global entertainment industry and Korea's game and e-sports industry.
Courses on the entertainment management side will teach students about content marketing, business models of the entertainment industry and how to develop content strategies.
Courses for the program will be taught in both Korean and English.
An English website for the Division of Global Entertainment will open next week, according to the university. Currently, only a Korean version is available via the School of Media & Communication's website, which the Division of Global Entertainment is under.
The Division of Global Entertainment is a program only available for those applying through the university's International Undergraduate Admissions track, which requires both the applicant and the applicant's parents to be foreign nationals.
Applications for the International Undergraduate Admissions track will be open between Aug. 5 and Sept. 2.
