Hyundai Motor, LG Electronics, LS E-Link, and Doosan Robotics signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to expand the city’s electric vehicle charging infrastructure.

LS E-Link announced on Wednesday that it inked its MOU at the city hall building in Jung-gu, Seoul. The agreement aims to enhance the installation and operation of EV charging stations throughout the city, with the Seoul Metropolitan Government responsible for identifying suitable sites for charger installation and providing other administrative support. For their part, the private companies will collaborate with the city in operating and maintaining the EV chargers and charging stations.

This initiative goes beyond merely increasing the number of EV chargers to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles. It focuses on optimizing the distribution of EV chargers to meet specific needs, including the provision of rapid charging and chargers designed to assist those with limited mobility.
