The Korean government will provide $1 million in humanitarian aid to Ethiopia to support the nation's relief efforts in response to recent landslides, the Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

"The government hopes that its humanitarian aid to Ethiopia will support the recovery of the affected areas and help residents in those areas swiftly return to their daily lives," the ministry said.

The landslides that hit Ethiopia's southern Gofa zone reportedly left 257 people dead as of July 26, according to the ministry.
