HD Hyundai Electric, a subsidiary of South Korea’s HD Hyundai, specializing in power equipment and energy solutions, has expanded its transformer production facility in the United States. The company announced on Sunday that it held a completion ceremony for the new specialized transformer storage facility at its North American production site in Alabama on July 26 (local time).

The newly completed storage facility covers an area of 12,690 square meters, equivalent to 1.7 football fields, and can store up to 60 finished transformers. With this new facility, HD Hyundai Electric can now use the space previously occupied by transformers in the assembly plant for additional production. This expansion is also expected to reduce costs associated with storing and transporting products to external locations.

In addition to the Alabama facility, HD Hyundai Electric is expanding its transformer plant in Ulsan, South Korea. The company plans to complete the layout modifications aimed at streamlining production processes within this month and establish a new core factory within the Ulsan plant by October.

HD Hyundai Electric said that once the construction of the Alabama plant and the Ulsan plant is completed, it expects to achieve an annual sales increase of 220 billion won ($160 million).
