Hyundai Mobis wins int’l design awards for innovative technology

Hyundai Mobis Co., an auto parts company under South Korea’s Hyundai Motor Group, has won three international design awards for its product that integrates innovative technology and future-oriented design.

According to the company on Sunday, it has won awards for its active aero lighting system (AALS), which integrates aerodynamic performance improvement technology and a new concept lamp system.

The awards were from Germany’s iF Product Design Award, Red Dot Design Award, and International Design Excellence Awards in the United States.

The achievements were the first of their kind in the company’s history.

The AALS is a groundbreaking technology combining better aerodynamic performance with a novel lamp system.

In passenger vehicles, aerodynamic performance refers to efficient airflow management, which enhances driving performance, stability, and fuel economy.

The moving lamp integrates motion and light to give the vehicle a dynamic appearance. Hyundai Mobis’ AALS features a unique design where the rear lamps, normally concealed within the body, slide out when the rear spoiler gets activated.
