Tate brothers reaction following the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024

IOC (International Olympic Committee) reacted on religious groups complaints regarding 'The Last Supper' reference in the opening ceremony: 'Clearly there was never intention to show disrespect to any religious group. On the contrary, we intended to show tolerance and community. If people have taken any offence then we are sorry'. Thomas Jolly, the artistic director behind the opening ceremony, said the scene had not been inspired by 'The Last Supper' of Leonardo da Vinci's painting, but a depiction of a pagan feast linked to the gods of Olympus. Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested on 29 December 2022 as a result of a DIICOT (Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism) inquiry on charges of human trafficking and intention to form an organized crime group. Romanian police stated that the two brothers and their associates coerced victims into creating a paid pornography service for social media platforms. On 31 March 2023, the Tate brothers and their associates were transferred from police custody to house arrest. EPA/ROBERT GHEMENT
