The Korea Creative Content Agency (Kocca) and the Ministry of Government Legislation (Moleg) have entered into a partnership aimed at providing translated foreign legal information to Korean content companies, a move designed to bolster the industry’s international reach.
"Kocca and Moleg formalized an agreement to support the global expansion of the Korean content sector through a cooperative system that offers vital legal information from abroad," Kocca announced on Thursday.
In collaboration with the Korea Law Information Service, a body under Moleg, Kocca will summarize and translate pertinent foreign laws for domestic content companies. This initiative will focus on areas critical to content distribution, including intellectual property rights, content review regulations, tax systems and penalties for illegal distribution. The translated legal materials will be accessible via Kocca's content export marketing platform, WelCon.
"As the global market’s appetite for K-content continues to grow, this agreement lays a crucial foundation for the overseas expansion and export growth of our domestic companies," said Jo Hyun-rae, president of Kocca. "Through ongoing collaboration with Moleg, we are committed to providing the practical legal information that our domestic companies need."
