Afghan Women Business Hub empowers local women through sewing skills

Shams Mohammadi, an Afghan woman has established the Afghan Women Business Hub, creating job opportunities for over 50 women, particularly those who are improvished. Having acquired sewing and embroidery skills as well as educational qualifications in Iran, she returned to Afghanistan to empower women through her workshop, where they learn various sewing techniques for a modest fee of 350 Afghanis (about 5 USD) per month. The hub produces a range of clothing, including Afghan shirts and uniforms, serving as a popular brand in the community. Many women working at the center have turned to this initiative after the closure of schools and universities, expressing satisfaction with their newfound opportunities in the face of adversity.
