Girl group Blackpink member Rosé covered famed rock band Coldplay’s 2008 song “Viva La Vida” for the second season of Apple TV+ series “Pachinko," slated to premiere on Aug. 23.

Rosé’s song will be included in the final episode of the upcoming series, Apple TV+ said Tuesday.

Rosé’s song is also used in the trailer released on Tuesday. The trailer shows Sunja, played by actor Kim Min-ha, running into Hansu, played by Lee Min-ho, after they have been separated for 14 years.

The second season of “Pachinko" consists of eight episodes and will be released weekly on Apple TV+ from Aug. 23 to Oct. 11.

The main cast members from the first season, including Kim, Lee, Youn Yuh-jung, Jin Ha, Jung Eun-chae, Anna Sawai, Han Jun-woo and Soji Arai, are all returning for the new season. New to the cast is Kim Sung-kyu, known for his roles in films like “The Outlaws” (2017), “Hansan: Rising Dragon” (2022) and “Noryang: Deadly Sea” (2023). His role in "Pachinko" has not been revealed yet.

“Pachinko” is based on the best-selling novel by Korean American author Lee Min-jin, and spans four generations starting with the Japanese occupation of Korea and some of the family members’ immigration to the United States. The series received critical acclaim, winning the Best Foreign Language Series at the Critics Choice Awards and the Breakthrough Series – Long Format awards at the Gotham Independent Film Awards in 2023 and 2022, respectively.

Executive producers for the second season include Soo Hugh, who also wrote the screenplay, Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer from production company Media Res and Theresa Kang from studio Blue Marble Pictures. Directors for the season include Leanne Welham, Arvin Chen and Lee Sang-il.
