Hollys to supply coffee beans for Korean Air international flights

South Korean coffee chain Hollys Coffee will begin supplying coffee beans to Korean Air Lines Co. for use on international flights, the brand said on Monday.

The ground coffee beans provided by Hollys Coffee to the national flag carrier are a blend of raw beans sourced from Central and South America.

The company has crafted this blend to appeal to a wide range of palates by enhancing its nuttiness, while also offering a balanced sweetness and acidity.

Passengers flying in economy class on Korean Air’s medium and long-haul international routes will be able to enjoy coffee brewed with Hollys Coffee beans starting this month.

Korean Air chose Hollys as its coffee supplier after evaluating the company’s capacity to roast over 1,700 tons of coffee beans annually and a team of internationally certified coffee graders, known as Q Graders, at its roasting center.

This new partnership follows Hollys’ recent expansion into the Japanese market, where the brand opened its first store in the bustling Namba area of Osaka in May.
