On the 17th, the team behind the drama 'Benevolent Competition' (planned by STUDIO X+U / produced by YLAB Flex, STUDIO X+U / directed by Kim Tae-hee / written by Kim Tae-hee, Min Ye-ji) announced the confirmation of the production and the casting news of Hyeri.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name (written by Song Chae-yoon / illustrated by Shim Jae-young / produced by YLAB), 'Benevolent Competition' is a high-teen mystery thriller drama that delves into the precarious relationships of teenage girls amidst a survival competition more intense than entrance exams. It tells the story of 'Woo Seul-gi,' a girl from a local orphanage who transfers to Chae Hwa Girls' High School, a place filled with the top 1% students in Korea, and the ensuing events.

In the drama, Hyeri takes on the role of 'Yoo Je-i,' the unrivaled powerhouse of Chae Hwa Girls' High School. Yoo Je-i is a genius high school girl who belongs to the top 0.1% even within the top 1% at Chae Hwa Girls' High School, possessing natural beauty, a high IQ, and a good family background.

Yoo Je-i, who has lived her life envied by everyone since birth, is well aware of her superiority and knows how to use it to her advantage. She shows special interest in the transfer student Woo Seul-gi, developing a precarious relationship oscillating between friendship and obsession.

Hyeri's return to drama comes approximately three years after the 2022 drama 'May I Help You'. During this period, Hyeri has solidified her position as an actress through numerous works such as 'Moonshine', 'My Roommate Is a Gumiho', 'Miss Lee', 'Two Cops', 'Reply 1988', and the movie 'My Punch-Drunk Boxer'.

Additionally, she is continuing her active career as an actress with the movie 'Victory,' set to be released on the 14th of next month.

Meanwhile, the drama 'Benevolent Competition' is scheduled to be released in 2025.
