Hyosung taps former Samsung executives to head key affiliates

Hyosung TNS Inc. and Hyosung ITX Co., affiliates of the Hyosung Group, have appointed former Samsung Group executives as their new chief executive officers. The appointments are seen as an effort to strengthen their global market presence and develop new businesses, including in the information technology sector.

Hyosung TNS announced on Thursday that Choi Bang-seop was appointed as the company’s new CEO by the board of directors. Choi, a graduate of Seoul National University’s mechanical engineering department, joined Samsung Electronics Co. in 1987 and served as head of global strategic marketing for Samsung Electronics‘ Mobile Experience Division until 2022.

Hyosung ITX also announced on the same day that it had appointed Hong Hye-jin, former vice president and head of Hyosung’s IT strategy office, as its new CEO following an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders and a board meeting. Hong spent decades leading IT strategy and marketing at Samsung Electronics and Samsung SDS Co.
