All members of boy band Stray Kids renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment, a year before their contracts were set to end.
"The contract renewal comes as a result of the Stray Kids' members Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin and I.N's strong trust with JYP Entertainment as they establish a unique position in the global music market," the agency said on Thursday.
Stray Kids debuted in March 2018 with "District 9" and quickly became one of the leading names in K-pop. It has gained fame due to its strong beats and electronic-slash-hip-hop style that global fans tend to prefer over the softer competition, evident through their hit songs "God's Menu" (2020), "Thunderous" (2021), "Miroh" (2019), "My Pace" (2018) and "Hellevator" (2017).
The band is also known as having been "self-produced," meaning that all members participate in the song-making process and that the bandmates were put together by leader Bang Chan, who hand-picked each member instead of the agency's founder Park Jin-young.
Stray Kids topped the Billboard 200 albums chart four consecutive times ever since its first No. 1 on the chart in March 2022 with the "Oddinary" EP. A new EP titled "Ate" is set to come out on Friday at 1 p.m.
Stray Kids recently headlined the British Summer Time Hyde Park music festival. It is also awaiting to headline the Lollapalooza Chicago festival next month, which will be followed by the band's new world tour, "Stray Kids World Tour 〈dominATE〉."
