SK bioscience signs power purchase agreement with SK E&S

SK bioscience Co. announced on Tuesday that it has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with energy company SK E&S Co. to directly buy renewable energy produced from solar power.

This agreement marks a significant step towards the company’s commitment to sustainability and carbon neutrality.

Starting in 2026, SK E&S will supply SK bioscience with 23,227 MWh of renewable electricity annually from its solar power plants for 20 years.

The green energy will be directed to SK bioscience’s major facilities, including its plant in Andong, North Gyeongsang Province.

According to SK bioscience, the amount of renewable energy secured through the PPA is equivalent to the monthly electricity consumption of about 75,000 households, based on the average usage of a four-person household (307 kWh per month).

The company said the PPA represents a crucial part of its strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support carbon neutrality.
