South Korea’s Hanil Cement Co. announced on Tuesday that it has developed the industry’s first self-leveling (SL) mortar that can be used for outdoor repairs.

SL mortar, unlike traditional repair mortars that require plastering to level the floor, automatically smooths itself out when poured onto the floor. This makes it easy to use for anyone, even without plastering skills.

Unlike existing SL mortars that were only suitable for indoor use, the newly developed Remitar Con-Patch SL can be used outdoors as it contains polymer components.

The product combines the strength of cement with the flexibility and high adhesion of polymers, which reduces issues such as cracks and delamination in outdoor environments.

According to the company‘s own tests, it takes about one hour to cover 100 square meters, which is approximately eight times faster than traditional plastering methods, significantly saving time and labor costs.
