Jin of boy band BTS carried the Olympic torch on Sunday evening in front of the Louvre Museum’s glass pyramid.
He emerged from the torch relay center set up at the Louvre Museum around 8 p.m.
Jin moved to the nearby Rue de Rivoli avenue, received the torch and marched back to the front of the Louvre Museum. Jin carried the torch for approximately 200 meters.
“I am very honored to be able to participate in today's torch relay,” said Jin in a video message through HYBE. “I sincerely thank ARMY and fans who made it possible for me to carry the torch.”
BTS fans from around the world gathered to see Jin, who participated in his first overseas event after completing his military service last month, according to media reports.
The torch relay, which began on May 8 in Marseille, southern France, has continued for more than two months.
The torch has traveled through mainland France as well as overseas territories, arriving in Paris on Sunday.
Sunday was Bastille Day, the French national holiday commemorating the storming of the Bastille prison during the French Revolution.
The Paris Olympics torch will travel around various parts of Paris until Monday, then move back to the provinces before returning to Paris for the opening ceremony on July 26.
Jin departed for France on Thursday to take part in the torch relay.
