Samsung begins pre-orders for Galaxy Fold6, Flip6

Pre-orders for Samsung Electronics Co.’s new Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 will begin on Friday. Telecom companies are offering prizes such as round-trip tickets to Paris, France, where the Galaxy Unpacked Event took place, to attract customers.

Samsung Electronics will conduct pre-sales for the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 from Friday to July 18th, 2024. Wearable products unveiled at the Unpacked Event, including the Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch7, Galaxy Watch Ultra, and Galaxy Buds3 series, will also be available for pre-sale during the same period.

The release price for the Galaxy Z Fold6 is set between 2.2 million won ($1,605.9) and 2.7 million won, while the price for the Galaxy Z Flip6 is set between 1.49 million won and 1.6 million won. These prices are respectively 132,000 won and 85,800 won higher than those for the previous models.

The Galaxy Ring is priced at 499,400 won, the Galaxy Watch7 between 349,000 won and 419,100 won, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra at 899,800 won, while the Galaxy Buds3 Pro and Galaxy Buds3 are priced at 319,000 won and 219,000 won respectively. The Galaxy Ring can be tried on and purchased in sizes 5 to 13 at Samsung Electronics nationwide.

Telecom companies have also jumped into the pre-order competition with unique marketing strategies. SK telecom Co. is collaborating with Netflix to offer round-trip tickets to Paris, Madrid in Spain, and Tokyo in Japan to a total of 120 people via a lottery. Young customers aged 34 and under will be entered into a draw to win invitations to a fan meeting for Faker Lee Sang-hyeok’s e-sports team, T1.

KT Corp. is providing invitations to the Jarasum Jazz music festival and Samsung Electronics home appliances to pre-purchase customers. The company will also hold an augmented reality game event using the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 at KT stores nationwide to showcase the new products.

For its part, LG Uplus Corp. is offering prizes such as round-trip tickets to Paris, Miu Miu hobo bags, and Dior wallets. Customers who make purchases in July 2024 will also receive three months of free access to the online video service Disney Plus.
