The Senior Citizen School Din Daeng is Bangkok's first school for elderly located in a low income community providing daily basic exercise for elderly's health benefits and offering senior residents to learn Chinese, French and English languages as well as some skills aimed to improve knowledge and encourage the seniors to live on their own. Data from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) shows that Thailand?s population is estimated at 71.9 millions in 2024, with 17 percent aged 65 and older, making it one of the fastest aging countries. Observed annually on July 11, World Population Day was established by the Governing Council of the United Nations Development Program in 1989 to raise awareness of global population issues. According to the World Population Prospects 2024: Summary of Results, it is expected that the world?s population will peak in the mid-2080s, growing over the next sixty years from 8.2 billion in 2024 to around 10.3 billion people in the mid-2080s, and then return to 10.2 billion people by the end of the century.
