Chinese woman rescued after 36-hour drifting in the sea in Japan

The Coast Guard announced on 10 July 2024, that the woman had been swept away and disappeared while swimming at Shirahama Ohama Beach in Shimoda, Shizuoka Prefecture, on the night of July 8. The woman was found and safely rescued about 36 hours later on the morning of July 10, 2023, about 80 km away from the missing beach. She was conscious and did not require hospitalization.
