The Genesis GV60 Magma, slated for Korean release in the third quarter of 2025, made its global debut at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in Britain on Thursday.
The luxury brand under Hyundai Motor showcased four Genesis Magma concept cars, including the GV60 Magma and Electrified G80 Magma, at the four-day motor sports festival that kicked off on Thursday in West Sussex, Britain.
Magma is Genesis' high-performance badge, similar to Mercedes-Benz's AMG, BMW's M and Hyundai Motor's N.
The GV60 Magma, which is based on the Genesis GV60 — the brand’s first dedicated EV model — will go on sale in Korea in the third quarter of next year as the first Magma model to reach mass production.
The European launch is scheduled for the fourth quarter.
Launched in 1993, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is often called the “Moving Motor Show” featuring modern and historic racing cars which also includes a stretch of 1.83-kilometer (1.14-mile) infamously challenging Hillclimb course.
The GV60 will complete the Hillclimb course a total of 13 times over the event, the auto brand said.
“The festival’s storied legacy and enthusiastic audience provide an ideal platform to showcase the capabilities of our new Magma program and highlight our strong commitment to high performance,” said Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke.
Genesis has participated in the Goodwood festival for four consecutive years since 2021.
