Simmons launches new mattress with vanadium-infused steel springs

Simmons announced on Wednesday that it has launched a new Beautyrest mattress that incorporates vanadium-infused steel wires produced by POSCO for the first time in South Korea, significantly enhancing durability.

Vanadium is a material known for increasing the strength and temperature stability of steel alloys, making them highly flexible, resilient, and durable, even under extreme conditions such as high pressure and temperature. It is widely used in aerospace engineering for its exceptional properties.

“The Simmons Vanadium Pocket Spring boasts more than five times the durability of our previous products, thanks to the application of vanadium,” the company said. “With this confidence in quality, we have extended our pocket spring warranty to an industry-leading 15 years.”

The new product also features several other high-quality materials to improve sleep comfort, such as the American Cotton Padding, which enhances breathability and warmth using natural plant-based materials extracted from U.S.-grown cotton, Mild Mohair Padding, providing optimal warmth and comfort; and Soft Alpaca Padding, known for its supreme softness and delicate touch.
