HD Korea Shipbuilding nabs deals worth $356 mn

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering Co., the sub-holding company of the HD Hyundai group’s shipbuilding and offshore business, secured orders for petrochemical carriers (PC) and very large gas carriers (VLGC).

HD Korea Shipbuilding signed shipbuilding contracts for two VLGCs and two PC vessels with shipping companies from the Middle East and Oceania, with a total order value of 492.5 billion won ($355.6 million), the company said on Monday. The VLGCs will be built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. and delivered by June 2027, while the PC vessels will be built by HD Hyundai Mipo Co. and delivered by March 2027.

With these latest orders, HD Korea Shipbuilding has secured contracts for a total of 122 vessels, including one offshore facility, which are valued at $12.95 billion to date.
