Singers HyunA and Yong Jun-hyung will get married in October, media reports said Monday.
HyunA's agency AT AREA confirmed the news on Monday afternoon.
"HyunA found great comfort in Yong during difficult times and decided to bear the fruit of their love by marriage" said AT AREA. "They will hold the ceremony with close acquaintances and embark on a new chapter in their lives in October."
News outlet YTN had reported earlier on Monday that the couple will hold their wedding on Oct. 11.
"The two stayed friends for a long time with a deep trust in each other based on their understandings of the difficulties of celebrity life. They recently became lovers and it seems that they decided to get married after becoming sure of their love," YTN reported on Monday, citing "an industry insider well aware of their relationship."
The two singers previously announced their relationship on Jan. 18 by posting a photo on their respective social media accounts showing them walking hand in hand.
HyunA and Yong were both previously signed to entertainment agency Cube Entertainment as members of girl group 4Minute and boy band Beast, which both debuted in 2009.
HyunA launched her solo career in 2010 with hit songs like "Bubble Pop" (2011), "Ice Cream" (2012) and "Lip & Hip" (2017).
Yong’s boy band Beast changed its name to Highlight after the boy band established its own label, Around US Entertainment, in 2017. Yong left the boy band in March 2019 after being embroiled in controversy for watching illicit videos taken by singer Jung Joon-young, whose crimes came to light as part of the investigation against former Big Bang member Seungri's so-called Burning Sun scandal.
Yong uploaded an apology letter on Instagram on June 12, admitting to watching an illegal video sent by Jung, but said he did so without knowing about the content of the video. Yong's letter came five years after he was accused of being a member of Jung's criminal circle.
HyunA released her ninth EP, “Attitude,” on May 2 and Yong released his third EP, “Beautiful Dystopia,” on March 25. “Beautiful Dystopia” ranked No. 1 on iTunes Top Album Charts in six regions and entered the Hong Kong Apple Music Albums chart upon release.
