Residents return home for first time after storms in Switzerland caused flooding and landslides

During the storm on Saturday 29 June night, Elio Biadici and his wife Christine were able to escape from their house via a small footbridge over the nearby river. A short time later, the bridge was swept away by the river's floodwaters. Severe storms and torrential rain over the last weekend left five people dead in Switzerland's Val Maggia and its side valleys in Ticino.
