Samsung Electronics' largest labor union will stage a full-scale strike with the stated principle of “No Work, No Pay" after failing to reach an agreement with management, local media outlets reported Monday.
The action will run from July 8 to 10, according to a posting on the National Samsung Electronics Union (NSEU) website. Local outlets reported Monday that the strike would continue until the union’s demands over salary hikes are met.
Unionized workers on Monday met with Jun Young-hyun, the head of Samsung’s chip business, but failed to reach an agreement.
The union went on strike in May, but no major production disruption was reported.
