Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival
Japanese film 'Last Hacker'

(MHNSports Reporter Sun Shin) Kwon Eun-bi will be walking the red carpet as an actress, not a singer.

The Japanese film "Smartphone wo Otoshita dake nanoni: Last Hacker" (hereafter referred to as "The Last Hacker"), starring Kwon Eun-bi, has been officially invited to the 28th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN), which will be held in Bucheon, Gyeonggi Province, from July 4 to 14.

This year, 255 films from 49 countries will be screened, with "The Last Hacker" being one of the 15 new works in the Mad MaxX section, showcasing masterpieces and new works from leading and mid-career genre filmmakers.

Kwon Eun-bi will attend the opening ceremony at the Bucheon Art Center on the first day of the festival, July 4, and walk the red carpet.

On the morning of the 27th, the trailer for the film was released. Kwon Eun-bi plays Sumin, a mysterious black-haired beauty.

The released video begins with Tomita Makoto (Tanaka Kei) dropping his smartphone. It then transitions to a scene featuring Urano (Narita Ryo), a serial killer who targets only black-haired beauties, evoking a sense of horror.

Following this, Kwon Eun-bi is shown with a trembling, anxious gaze, heightening global fans' curiosity. Director Hideo Nakata praised her, saying, "Kwon Eun-bi brilliantly expressed emotions in Japanese and performed dynamic physical expressions."

The "Smartphone wo Otoshita dake nanoni" series, based on Akira Shiga's original novel, attracted more than 1.5 million viewers and earned over 1.9 billion yen (approximately 17.2 billion won) when it first premiered in 2018. The sequel, "Smartphone wo Otoshita dake nanoni: Toraware no Satsujinki," released in 2020, also succeeded in attracting over 900,000 viewers despite the theater closures due to the COVID-19 emergency.

The series was also remade into a Netflix film starring Chun Woo-hee and Im Si-wan in Korea last year.

Meanwhile, Kwon Eun-bi continues her career path as a singer, releasing her second single "SABOTAGE" on the 18th.
