Second proceedings against far-right AFD politician Hoecke for use of banned Nazi slogan

epa11439048 Former history teacher and current leader of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party in Thuringia, Bjoern Hoecke (C) and his lawyers Ralf Hornemann (R) and Florian Gempe (L) arrive in court for the second day of his trial during what is expected to be the last day of his second trial for using a banned Nazi-era slogan in Halle, Germany, 26 June 2024. Prosecutors accuse Hoecke of having concluded a political rally in Gera in 2023 by yelling out 'Alles fuer . . . " and letting the crowd complete it with ". . . Deutschland' ('Everything for Germany'), a slogan used by Nazi-era SA stormtroopers, the use of which is a felony in modern Germany. Hoecke has already been convicted in a previous, separate trial of yelling out the slogan at a rally in 2021. EPA/JENS SCHLUETER / POOL
