Security intensified following Pakistan's opposition parties concerns over newly announced military operation

Pakistan's opposition parties have raised concerns over a newly announced military operation against militants, urging that the matter be discussed in the parliament. The operation, named Azm-e-Istehkam (Resolve for Stability), was approved by the Central Apex Committee of the National Action Plan, which includes key civil and military leaders, during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
