LG Energy Solution issues $2 bn in foreign currency bonds

LG Energy Solution Ltd. announced on Tuesday that it has successfully issued $2 billion in foreign currency bonds.

The bonds issued are $700 million in general foreign currency bonds with a maturity of three years, $800 million in global green bonds with a maturity of five years, and $500 million in global green bonds with a maturity of 10 years.

The three-year bonds were issued at a yield 100 basis points higher than the three-year U.S. Treasuries, the five-year bonds at 110 basis points higher than the five-year Treasuries, and the 10-year bonds 135 basis points higher than the 10-year Treasuries.

LG Energy Solutions plans to use the funds to boost its future competitiveness such as by investing in global production facilities and research and development.
