Fried chicken franchise BHC Chicken said Monday it has opened two additional stores in Thailand, increasing the total number of stores operating in the country to six.
With its first opening in January, the fried chicken franchise plans to increase the number to 10 this year.
BHC’s fifth store is delivery-only, situated in the Thonglor area of Bangkok, which is emerging as a popular trendy destination for the young generation there.
Its sixth store, located in a large shopping mall, Siam Center, in the capital city, covers around 165 square meters (1,776 square feet). Siam Center is one of the popular hot spots among locals as well as foreign tourists thanks to its focus on fashion stores and a well-developed food court.
While both of the stores provide every standard BHC chicken menu item, the sixth store offers the chain's localized items such as Bburinkle chicken skin and Bburinkle chicken joints, which are only available in Thailand, along with a variety of Korean items including tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and kimchi fried rice.
"We aim to open four more stores in Thailand this year, reaching a total of 10 restaurants, and plan to offer a variety of menu items, including chicken, Korean food and desserts,” the company’s spokesman said.
BHC Chicken operates 20 overseas stores in five countries, including the United States, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong.
