Korean golf legend Pak Se-ri will serve as a golf commentator during the Paris Olympics for Korean broadcaster KBS, the outlet announced Thursday, amid ongoing legal issues involving her father and her nonprofit Seri Pak Hope Foundation.
Pak, a World Golf Hall of Famer with five major titles on the LPGA Tour, will be joined by a cadre of retired star athletes — archer Ki Bo-bae, judoka Lee Won-hee and fencers Kim Jun-ho and Kim Jeong-hwan, KBS said.
The announcement comes after Pak, 46, held a press conference on Tuesday to address the legal dispute with her father, whom she reported to the police for forgery last week.
According to the foundation, Pak's father used a company stamp to sign a document to participate in establishing an international golf school, which the foundation claims was forged. Pak herself has no plans to host any golf school in the country, the foundation wrote on its website.
While Pak never competed in an Olympics, she coached 2016 gold medalist Park In-bee at the Rio Olympics and returned to coach Park, along with Ko Jin-young, Kim Sei-young and Kim Hyo-joo at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021.
