Britain's inflation rate hits target ahead of Bank of England's interest rate decision

The inflation rate in Britain has hit the Bank of England's 2 percent target for the first time in nearly three years. Official figures from the Office for National Statistics show prices rose at 2 percent in the year to May 2024, down from 2.3 percent in April 2024.
