Min Hee-jin, producer of girl group NewJeans and CEO of the quintet’s agency ADOR, posted a photo with renowned Hong Kong actor Tony Leung, sparking curiosity about a possible new collaboration.
Min shared the photo on her Instagram story on Tuesday with the caption, "See you soon."
Min and Leung previously met on the set of the music video shoot for NewJeans' “Cool With You” (2023).
This collaboration was arranged by Min herself and Leung appeared for free after reviewing the music video script through an acquaintance, said Shin Woo-seok, director and CEO of Dolphiners Film, who directed the music video in August. Shin revealed the information in a livestream with YouTuber ChimChakMan in August last year.
Min's photo was taken in front of a green screen, making it likely that the shot was taken during the music video shoot, according to local media reports.
The possible collaboration with Leung comes as the NewJeans producer has been seen meeting other potential collaborators.
Min also previously shared photos with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami, Apple Vice President Tor Myhren and Japanese fashion mogul Hiroshi Fujiwara.
Girl group NewJeans will open a pop-up store from June 26 to July 10, themed after its upcoming Japanese single "Supernatural." The store will offer merchandise created in collaboration with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami and Japanese musician and designer Hiroshi Fujiwara.
NewJeans is set to hold a debut showcase and fan meet and greet, "Bunnies Camp," in Tokyo Dome on June 26 and 27.
