Recount of invalid votes in the Budapest mayoral election

At the 09 June election, incumbent mayor Gergely Karacsony, the candidate of the Dialogue-Greens-Democratic Coalition-Socialists alliance prevailed with 371,466 votes, while his challenger, David Vitezy, the candidate of the opposition LMP and a civic movement received 371,142. The recount was initiated by the runner-up, Vitezy on 12 June, claiming a systemic error that led to a record number of 24,592 invalid votes at the unprecedentedly tight race for the Budapest mayoral seat.
