Protests in Armenia have been ongoing since mid-April. They began in the Tavush region, in the country's northeast, part of which was affected by the territorial delimitation with Azerbaijan. As a result, four border villages came under Baku's control. At the same time, the residents of the region, with the participation of Armenian Archbishop Galstanyan, blocked the highway leading from Armenia to Georgia. The movement was called 'Tavush for the Motherland' and its participants began a march to Yerevan. During a rally in Republic Square, Galstanyan announced that on upcoming 17 June, opposition deputies in the National Assembly would initiate a session with an agenda for the resignation of the government.
