‘Joseph Beuys (Diamond Dust)’
Thaddeus Ropac Seoul, an art gallery in Seoul, South Korea will host an Andy Warhol solo exhibition through July 27th, 2024. Titled “Andy Warhol, The Joseph Beuys Portraits,” the exhibition features more than 20 pieces of artworks created using multiple colors and techniques from a single photograph of Joseph Beuys, a German artist whose work reflected the concepts of humanism and sociology.

The Beuys portraits form part of international collections held by major institutions, such as The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York and the Tate in London. But the latest exhibition in Seoul is the first time those works have been showcased together with a solo focus since they were last exhibited in the 1980s, according to the gallery.

The portraits, both large and small, are rich in color, composition, and material variation. The collection includes original paintings, drawings, trial proofs, and even silkscreens on paper.
